The CVCA Girls Soccer team is returning to the District Final for the third consecutive season. The Royals defeated Coventry by a score of 8-1 on Monday night in the District Semi-final. They will face Hoban in the District Final on Thursday, October 27th at 7pm at Highland High School in Medina.
CVCA had a great team effort in their win over Coventry. Seven different Royals scored on the night and the defense made things very difficult for the Comets.
Jaya Wilson,
Amanda Winquist,
Toni Costa,
Kenzie Spodnik,
Abby Hutt,
Kayla Britt, and
Sami Strausser all found the back of the net. Strausser was the only Royal to score twice.
Toni Costa's goal broke the CVCA Girls Soccer record for most career goals. She now has 50 goals as a Royal.
The girls will be looking to win their 2nd District Championship in 3 years. They finished as District Champs in 2014 and District Runners-up in 2015. The matchup with Hoban is also a rematch of last year's District Final.
