The CVCA Girls Soccer team finished their season as District Runners-up on Thursday evening. It was another excellent season for the Royals as they ended the year with a record of 12-3-1. They made it to the District Final game for the third consecutive year. They faced off against the Knights of Archbishop Hoban. The teams were evenly matched and would battle throughout the game. In fact, extra time was needed to determine a winner in this one. Hoban was able to score early in overtime to end the game on the golden goal rule. Final Score: CVCA 2 - Hoban 3. The Royals took a 1-0 lead when
Amanda Winquist scored just 8 minutes into the game. Hoban found their equalizer with just over 25 minutes left before halftime. The score remain tied 1-1 at the break. The teams went back and forth in the second half. Hoban took their first lead with 15 minutes left in the game. The Royals responded 7 minutes later when
Amanda Winquist found the back of the net for the second time. The 2nd half would end with the score tied. They teams entered overtime where any goal would end the game. The Knights found that goal in the first minute of play and won 3-2.
