The CVCA boys lacrosse team opened OHSAA tournament play on Saturday. The Royals traveled to Holy Name for their opening round game. CVCA fell on the road to the Green Wave 6-5 earlier this season but entered the game will full confidence. It was another tight battle between these squads as the score was tied at 5 with the final seconds ticking down. The Royals forced a late turnover and raced to the other end of the field. Tyler Young found Nick Gage backside and Gage's shot hit the back of the net as time expired. With the exciting 6-5 win, CVCA advances to face Walsh Jesuit on Tuesday night. The Royals will look to extend a 4 game winning streak and defeat their neighbors on the 16th.
