The CVCA girls soccer team hosted Kent Roosevelt on Monday night in the OHSAA Tournament. The Royals, seeded 11th, and the Rough Riders, seeded 13th, battled for a spot in the District Championship game on Saturday. CVCA took a 1-0 lead in the first half. sophomore

Chloe Kroslak corner kick. The score remained 1-0 through the first half of play. The second half was hard fought. Both teams had periods of solid possession but scoring chances were few. The Royals were dangerous on corner kicks all night and earned back to back chances with just under 13 minutes left in the game. On the second attempt,
Jules Truax connected on a header that sent the
Chloe Kroslak kick into the back of the net. The CVCA defense stayed right with the Roosevelt attackers all night. They finished the game strong and recorded their 9th shutout of the season. With the 2-0 win, the Royals advanced to the Division II District Championship game. They will face Bay on Saturday, October 26th at 4:00pm at Nordonia High School.
