The CVCA volleyball team battled Chardon in the District Championship match on Thursday night. The Royals and Hilltoppers played a great match at Girard High School. Chardon won a competitive set 1 to gain an early advantage. CVCA responded with a strong victory in the 2nd set. The Royals dropped set 3 but gained some momentum fighting back from a big early deficit. The 4th set was all Royals as they put together a very strong stretch of play. With the score tied 2-2, a 5th set was needed to determine the winner. It was a battle in the final set. CVCA was able to finish strong to claim a 3-2 win and the District Championship. This is just the 2nd district title in program history. They previously won one in 1997. With the win, the Royals advance to the Regional Semi-final on Thursday, October 31st. They will face NDCL at 6pm at Norwalk High School.
