The CVCA girls basketball team hosted Elyria Catholic on Friday night. It was a big game in the North Coast Conference standings. The Panthers entered the game unbeaten in conference play and handed the Royals their lone conference loss in the season opener. Friday night was a defensive battle between these two good teams. CVCA trailed early but never back down. They allowed just 3 points combined in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of play to pull in front. The girls held on for a nine point victory. Senior Joi Williams led all scorers with 15 points and she scored her 1500th career point. She is just the 2nd player in program history to reach this milestone. CVCA will be back in action on Wednesday night when they host Walsh Jesuit.
