The CVCA girls basketball team hosted Tallmadge on Wednesday night in OHSAA Tournament action. The Royals and Blue Devils battled in this Division III District Semifinal. It was an intense game from start to finish. Tallmadge held a one point lead at the end of the first quarter and pushed it to six points at the half. The Royals trailed by a score of 35-30 entering the 4th quarter, but flipped the game with a 7-0 run. After a long stretch without either team scoring, Tallmadge hit two free throws to tie the score at 37. CVCA made four free throws before Tallmadge made three. Joi Williams pushed the lead to two with a free throw make. The Blue Devils went for the win, but their three point shot missed with just over one second left. CVCA added two more free throws for a 44-40 win. The Royals advance to the District Final on Saturday. They will face Ellet at 7:00pm at Perry High School in Lake County.
