The CVCA boys lacrosse team hosted University School on Monday night. The Royals and Preppers were able to add this game late after both teams lost games to cancellations. CVCA was able to control the game in the first half and led 7-1 at the half. The lead grew as large as 8-1 for the Royals, but the visiting Preppers never quit. In the second half, University dominated possession and created scoring chance after scoring chance. They converted on many and were able to pull within 8-7. CVCA answered quickly with two goals to go up 10-7. From that point, US scored four unanswered goals to grab their first lead with just over 2 minutes left. The Royals were able to force overtime with a late goal and final defensive stand. Overtime rules are sudden death and US scored off a rebound to win the game 12-11. CVCA is now 9-2 on the season. They will travel to Southview on Friday night.
