The CVCA boys lacrosse team hosted Copley on Thursday night in the opening round of the OHSAA Regional Tournament. The Royals were seeded 8th in Region 5 and Copley was seeded 9th. CVCA was looking to defeat the Indians for the 2nd time this season after winning on the road on April 24th. Copley jumped ahead early and led by three goals at the end of the first quarter. The Royals answered with a strong 2nd quarter and led by one at the half. The third quarter was a tight battle until CVCA increased their lead to three late in the quarter. The boys rode that momentum and finished strong for a 17-11 victory. With the win, they advance to the Quarterfinal round where they will face the winner of Rocky River and Southview. That game will be played on May 21st at the better seeded school.
