The CVCA Girls Tennis team had the distinguished opportunity to end our season at the most prestigious tennis facility in the state among the best competition in the state! Junior
Delanie Moore and senior
Grace Saffles competed in the Division I state tournament consisting of the final 16 DI doubles teams in Ohio. In the round of 16, they faced the district champions from the Columbus district. Despite being the underdogs to this tough New Albany team, Grace and Lanie came out very strong, jumping to a 6-1 first set victory. New Albany bounced back in the second set, winning a competitive 6-4 set. In the final set, Grace and Lanie found another gear and controlled play at the net, playing bravely in all the high-pressure moments to take the win 6-3. In the quarterfinal match against Beavercreek, they fought extremely hard and played at their top level, but came up short of victory, losing 7-5 6-2. We are so proud of how they represented CVCA, but most importantly how they represented Christ to their opponents and fellow competitors! We praise God for the opportunity to make His name known at the highest levels of our sport.
