Hockey wins in OT over Aurora

Royals defeat Aurora 5-4

The Royals won in dramatic fashion at The Pond in Aurora tonight against Aurora High School. Aurora struck first to take a 1-0 lead but the Royals came back on a goal by freshman forward Christian Beckett to tie the game 1-1. The Royals struck again when senior

Josh Polanski scored with an assist from Christian Beckett to take a 2-1 lead. It didn't last long as the Aurora Greenmen scored three unanswered goals to take a 4-2 lead into the third period. The Royals never quit and battled their way back with a goal by Josh Polanski with 8:37 left in regulation. The Royals continued to press and with 1:19 left Josh Polanski tied the game to send the teams into overtime. It was Polanski again who scored the game winner in overtime to cap the comeback.

Josh Polanski was named The Royal of The Game and was awarded The Crown. Senior Matt Greenwood and Junior defensemen Hayden Dickerson and Noah Polanski were outstanding all night long for the Royals. It was a great all around team effort.

The Royals face the Twinsburg Tigers tomorrow night at The Kent State at 8:30pm.
