The Royals fell tonight to the Archbishop Alter Knights by a score of 3-1 in the Parma MLK Tournament at Ries Arena. The Royals got off to a slow start giving up the game's first goal heading into the first intermission down 1-0. The Royals picked up their game in the second period but couldn't solve the Knights goaltender heading into the final period down 3-0. The third period belonged to the Royals who managed an unassisted goal on an outstanding effort from their captain Josh Polanski who out battled two Knights for the puck and rifled it home for the Royals lone goal of the game.
Junior goaltender Brooks Montgomery (pictured) was outstanding in net stopping 26 of 29 shots making several outstanding saves in the third period. Brooks was named the Royal of The Game and was awarded The Crown. The Royals take the ice tomorrow to take on the North Canton Hoover Vikings in their second game of tournament. The puck drops at 3:30pm at the Michael A. Ries Arena in Parma.
