Royals fall to NDCL 1-3

The Royals fell in a heart breaker at the hands of the NDCL Lions by score of 3-1 last night at The Kent State Ice Arena. The Royals opened the scoring in the first period on a goal by Josh Polanski (pictured) assisted by Christian Beckett and took the 1-0 lead into the 1st intermission. The Lions answered half way through the 2nd period to tie the score 1-1. The teams battled into the 3rd period when with 9 minutes left in regulation the Royals went on the power play but gave up a shorthanded goal to the Lions giving them their first lead of the game at 2-1. The Lions would add a 3rd goal with 32 seconds left to seal the Royals fate. Josh Polanski was named Royal of the Game and awarded The Crown for his efforts. It was a tough loss for the Royals who must bounce back as they take to the ice at 3:40pm today at Centre Ice in Canton to take on the North Canton Hoover Vikings.
