On Tuesday night, CVCA hosted University school in boys basketball for a triple header. The freshman, junior varsity, and varsity teams all had the chance to play on this night. This game would proved to be an exciting one with overtime needed to determine a winner. Final score: CVCA 55 - University 62
The Royals battle tough throughout the first half. University ran subs in an out to keep fresh legs in on their full court press. CVCA was able to keep things close by using the Preppers aggressive play to draw fouls. The Royals' half court defense was difficult to score against as well.  At the half, University led 24-22.  They extended that lead to 7 at the end of the third quarter and maintained that margin for most of the 4th quarter. Just a few minutes were left, but CVCA never quit. A great comeback effort was capped when
Elijah Turner knocked down 3 free throws to tie the game with just seconds remaining. Regulation would end with the score tied at 47. University's pressure combined with their depth proved difficult for the Royals to deal with in overtime. The Royals left everything out on the court and finished just short of a great comeback victory.
