The CVCA Christmas Tournament can to an end on Saturday. The Royals went 3-0 in the qualifying games including a big 7-4 win over Normandy on Friday night. In that game,
Christian Beckett continued his excellent tournament with 3 more goals.
Bayley McRitchie added 2, while
Zach Miller and
Hayden Dickerson each scored once. The win by CVCA setup a rematch with Normandy in the tournament's championship game on Saturday afternoon. The Invaders struck first this time with a goal near the end of the 1st period. Neither team scored in the 2nd period despite power play opportunities for both teams. In the final period, Normandy added 2 insurance goals and kept the Royals from scoring. Normandy won the championship by a score of 3-0. CVCA finished their tournament as runners-up. The loss also ended an impressive 4 game winning streak for the Royals.
