The CVCA boys basketball teams opened up their seasons against the Cardinals of Kenmore High School. The varsity contest was a battle from start to finish. Both teams had a hard time scoring against the other. The Royals led by 3 after the first quarter. Kenmore would outscored CVCA 27-16 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to take an 8 point lead into the final quarter. CVCA's comeback effort would fall 1 point shy when their half court shot missed in the final seconds. Final score: CVCA 38 - Kenmore 39

CVCA was led by Terrell Hicks' 12 points and 6 rebounds. Steven Taylor added 11 points and 4 board. Nate Stull scored 9 points and Elijah Turner had 8 rebounds and 3 assists.
