An early morning snow and ice storm caused a snow day for both CVCA and Streetsboro. With the forecast improving throughout the day, the schools agreed to still play their scheduled boys basketball game on Tuesday night. The Royals came in to the game looking for their first non-conference win of 2016-17. The Rockets were riding the momentum of the opening of their new gymnasium and a 6-3 record. CVCA jumped out to an early led thanks to tough defense. The Royals led 12-3 after the first quarter. Streetsboro made some adjustments and took advantage of some missed shots and defensive miscues by the Royals in the 2nd quarter. CVCA held a 26-22 lead at halftime. The 2nd half would be an exciting one. The teams went back and forth down to the final seconds. A buzzer beating bank shot for Streetsboro rattled out as time expired, and CVCA held on for a 47-45 win.
