CVCA and Manchester met on the basketball court on Friday night. The Royals entered the game in 1st place in the Principals' Athletic Conference with the Panthers 2 games back in 2nd. When the two teams met on December 16th, it was a back and forth battle until CVCA pulled away late. Friday night's game played out very much like the one in mid-December. CVCA led by 1 point after the 1st quarter and by 2 points at the half. The 3rd quarter was back and forth. The teams traded leads as the quarter ended. The Royals held a 1 point lead at 36-35 as they entered the 4th quarter. CVCA had saved their best for last. The Royals defense held Manchester to just three 4th quarter points. CVCA made big plays and their free throws when needed. The 15-3 run in the final quarter gave CVCA the 49-38 win and increased their led in the conference to 3 games.
