The CVCA and Coventry girls basketball game came down to the final shot on Monday night. Unfortunately for the Royals, Coventry had the ball for the final shot.
Kaitlyn Judge hit 3 free throws to tie the score with 30 seconds left in the game. After a foul by CVCA, the Comets went to the line with just seconds remaining. After a missed free throw, Coventry's center rebound the ball and laid it in for a 41-39 win. The Royals trailed much of the game but battled back to have a chance in the end. "I am proud of the way that our girls fought through adversity. We have been talking about that all year and they have come a long way with that. To fight back into a game against a good team is encouraging," said Coach O'Keefe. The girls will host Beaumont on Wednesday night.
