CVCA hockey will be playing in the Baron Cup final for the first time on Sunday. The Royals defeated Mayfield 4-0 in Saturday's semi-final and will face Aurora for the championship. Aurora advanced to the finals thanks to an overtime victory over Brooklyn on Saturday. The Royals and Greenmen split two games during the regular season.
In Saturday's win, the Royals played one of their best all-around games of the season. The defense limited Mayfield's chances. Goalie
Brooks Montgomery did not allow any goals for the 2
nd time in the last 3 games. With the Royals defense playing at a high level, the offense only needed to convert a few times for the win. However, the offense stepped up and had a big day as well.
Bayley McRitchie netted 2 goals for the Royals.
Hayden Dickerson and Noah Polanksi each added one.
Christian Beckett had a solid day creating chances and opportunities for CVCA. The Royals will look for another solid effort on Sunday.
