The CVCA hockey team played in the opening round of the OHSAA State Tournament on Tuesday night. With just 1 division, the hockey tournament is very challenging especially in Northeast Ohio. The Royals faced a good NDCL team who they lost to early in the year. The Lions would earn a 5-1 win and a matchup with Gilmour Academy in the next round. The loss eliminates CVCA from the OHSAA tournament, but the Royals will play in a tournament in Canton this weekend to end the year.
Christian Beckett scored CVCA's only goal off a great assist from
Bayley McRitchie. McRitchie was named Royal of the Game for his outstanding effort and hustle.
