The CVCA girls basketball team hosted Woodridge on Saturday night for the 1st round of the OHSAA Tournament. This Sectional Semi-final was a rematch as the Royals and Bulldogs met on January 3rd of this year. CVCA earned a 5 point win then and was looking to advance in tournament play with another win over Woodridge. It was a low scoring affair on Saturday night, and 4 quarters weren't enough to determine a winner. The teams played 2 overtime periods before CVCA came away with a 32-30 win. Lauren Davis scored a driving lay-up to give the Royals the lead, and Woodridge's final attempt came up short. The win keeps CVCA's season alive as they advance to the Sectional Final on Thursday, February 22nd. They will travel to STVM for that game and it will begin at 7pm.
