The CVCA boys basketball team traveled to Orrville on Tuesday night for a matchup between two of the top teams in the PAC so far this season. The Royals were looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Northwest on Friday and avenge a 49-36 loss to Orrville in early January. Tuesday night's tilt was a great game with the teams going back and forth all night. A late three by
Trey Williams tied the score at 49. Orrville tried to hold the ball for the final shot, but CVCA's defense forced a turnover.
Marc Smith deflected an entry pass that
Brett Carroscia collected for the Royals. Those two ran the fast break well and Smith earned a foul. He made both free throws to give the Royals a 51-49 lead with just 3 seconds left. The Red Riders final attempt was no good and CVCA picked up their 9th win of the season. They will host Fairless on Friday, January 25th.
