The CVCA boys basketball team hosted Fairless on Friday night in PAC-7 action. The Royals defeated Fairless 55-46 early in the season and knew they were in for a battle. CVCA looked primed to pull away in the 2nd quarter, but the Falcons battled back to the score to at the half. The Royals again controlled play and held a good lead entering the final minutes of the 4th quarter. Hot shooting by Fairless and some miscues by CVCA allowed the Falcons to erase a 9 point deficit in less than 2 minutes to force overtime. In the extra period, the Royals responded with strong defense and outscored Fairless 10-2 for a 57-49 win. CVCA is now 10-5 on the season and 6-2 in conference play.
