When the OHSAA tournament comes around, teams hope to be playing their best basketball of the season. The CVCA boys team did just that on Saturday night at Woodridge. The Royals overcame a 6 point half-time deficit to earn a 65-57. It was a gusty performance by CVCA to advance to district play. Woodridge started the game hot with a 15 point 1st quarter. The Royals stayed close with 15 points of their own. The 2nd quarter was back and forth with the Bulldogs leading 34-28 at the half. The third quarter saw a shift in momentum. Despite still trailing by 1, CVCA was taking control of the game as it entered the final quarter. Down the stretch, the Royals pulled ahead and stayed ahead by taking care of the ball and making free throws. It was a great team performance. CVCA will next face Revere in the District Semi-final on Thursday, March 7th. The game will be played at Stow High School at 6pm.
