It's always great to win the home opener, but these girls did so in dominating fashion, playing a very mentally tough match. They only gave up a total of 6 games across all courts the whole match! The doubles teams of Becca Nguyen and Medora Wychanko, along with seniors Courtney Morris and Callie Conner didn't drop a single game in their matches! Singles players Sarah Thelander and Courtney DeCarlo played very professional matches, staying focused to defeat their opponents 6-1 6-1 and 6-0 6-1 respectively. The toughest match of the night was first singles, as senior Hannah Jacob fell behind early 0-3. She managed to bring the score to 1-4 and then turned a corner, shaking off the nerves of her first match as CVCA's first singles player. She managed to win the next 11 games in a row to take the match and complete CVCA's sweep 6-4 6-0. It's a dream start to the season for the Royals, who will look to keep their high level of play throughout the season! - Coach David Ramey
