The CVCA boys basketball team played in the Holy Grounds Classic at St. Vincent-St. Mary on Saturday afternoon. The Royals faced off against the Brush Arcs as part of the showcase. A late 1st quarter run gave Brush a 4 point lead and the momentum. CVCA responded well in the second quarter and the game was tied at 23 at halftime. The battle continued in the 2nd half. Brush gained the advantage in the third quarter and the Royals answered again in the 4th quarter. Overtime was needed to determine a winner. CVCA took control of the game in overtime and secured a 61-52 win over the Arcs. The win moves the boys to 3-0 on the season. Senior LaVelle Sharpe was named game MVP as he finished with 21 points. The Royals will return to action on at home on Friday night against Canton South.
