The CVCA hockey team competed in Kent Roosevelt's Karynn Barlow Memorial Tournament over the weekend at Kent State University. The Royals defeated Strongsville 5-2 on Friday night to open tournament play with a win. They followed that up with an impressive 6-4 win over Hudson on Saturday afternoon. On Saturday night, CVCA fell to Perrysburg but they secured a spot in Sunday's championship game. Sunday was a rematch with Perrysburg and while CVCA played better, they finished as tournament Runners-Up. The team is now 9-5 on the season and will host Strongsville on Tuesday night for their home opener.
