Over the weekend, the CVCA Hockey team competed in Kent Roosevelt's Adam S. Hamilton Memorial Tournament. The tournament we held at the Kent State Ice Arena. On Friday night, the Royals defeated Anthony Wayne 3-2 behind three first period goals. They followed that up with a 3-0 shutout victory over St. Edward Green in their first of two games on Saturday. In their second game on Saturday, the Royals fell to Mentor 5-1. Despite the loss, CVCA qualified for the Championship game at 2:30pm on Sunday. It would be a rematch with Mentor for the tournament title. Mentor was able to secure a 3-1 win over the Royals on Sunday. CVCA finishes as tournament runner-up after a strong weekend of hockey. The team will return to action on Saturday against North Olmsted.
