The CVCA baseball team faced McKinley on Friday night in the Hank Miller Classic at Thurman Munson Stadium. The Royals scored three runs in the top of the 2nd inning to grab a 3-1 lead over the Bulldogs. In the top of the 5th inning, CVCA scored again to lead 4-1. McKinley answered with 4 runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning to move in front. The Royals continued to fight and scored in the 7th to force extra innings. A wild pitch from McKinley allowed CVCA to score the go ahead run in the top of the 8th and the Royals slammed the door in the bottom of the 8th for a 6-5 victory. The boys are now 7-3 on the season. They have a big week ahead with three key conference games.
