The CVCA hockey team faced one of their toughest tests of the season on Sunday. The Royals hosted Avon Lake in league play. The Shoreman entered the game with a record of 11-2-1. CVCA entered the game 11-3-1 but had not played since December 30th. CVCA and Avon Lake were tied at 1 after the first quarter of play. Avon Lake broke through in the 2nd period and grabbed a 4-2 lead. They extend their lead to 5-2 early in the third period. CVCA quickly answered to cut the deficit back to 2 goals, but went the next 10 minutes without a goal. Finally, the Royals broke through with just under 4 points left to make the score 5-4. They found the tying goal with 1:28 left in regulation and were able to force overtime. In overtime,
Eli Perrotta scored the game winning goal for the Royals to complete the impressive comeback. The boys will be back in action this weekend at the Normandy MLK Tournament.
