The CVCA boys soccer team took on Howland on Wednesday night in a Division III Regional Semifinal contest. The Royals and Tigers met at North Royalton's Serpentini Stadium, each looking to keep their season alive. It was a highly competitive game from the start. CVCA had the momentum early in the first half, but didn't score. The first half went by without a goal. About halfway through the 2nd half of play, Howland grabbed some momentum. CVCA was unable to keep possession and the Tigers brought attack after attack. The Royals' defense remained stout and prevented Howland from scoring. The score remained 0-0 as the final minutes ticked away. The game appeared to be heading for overtime until CVCA earned a free kick from 30 yards out. Junior

Nick Myers who ripped a shot past the Tigers' keeper. The Royals took a 1-0 lead with just 35 seconds remaining in the game. The game's final seconds ticked away and CVCA had earned a 1-0 win and a spot in the Division III Region 10 championship game. The boys will face Marlingon on Sunday at Ravenna High School.
