On December 10th, senior Joey Kopec was named 1st Team All-State and Co-Defensive Player of the Year (Division III) by the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association. His standout play as a linebacker led to these tremendous honors. Joey anchored a historic defense for CVCA that allowed just 8.3 points per game and only 145.2 yards of total offense per game. He recorded 51 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, and 2 interceptions his senior season. Joey is now a 4x All-State honoree with 1st Team honors in 2025 & 2024, 2nd Team honors in 2022, and 3rd Team honors in 2023. He was also named 1st Team All-District and All-Conference four times. He was also named the District Defensive Player of the year in 2025. The Royals finished the season with a record of 12-1 and won the first Regional Championship in program history.
