The CVCA baseball team hosted Padua on Wednesday. This was the first ever North Coast Conference game for the Royals. CVCA got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Thad Eaton scored after a Zac Anderson single was misplayed in the outfield. Padua tied the score in the top of the 5th, but the Royals quickly answered. Jacob Lancy, Ryan Wiehe, and John Harabedian all collected RBI singles in the bottom of the 5th inning to give CVCA a 4-1 lead. Zac Anderson,, Connor McGough, and Ryan Wiehe scored the runs for the home team. The visiting Bruins made it interesting in the 7th inning, but they were only able to score once. John Harabedian finished off his complete game effort on the mound with a strikeout to end the game with two runners on. CVCA improved their record to 4-2 (1-0) with the 4-2 home win. Next on the schedule is a trip to Copley on Thursday.
