He worked his way up through the collegiate coaching ranks after a successful playing career at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and three seasons overseas. He served as an Assistant Coach at Marietta College & CMU, prior to being named the Associate Head Coach at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Byrne then spent four seasons as the Head Coach at Ohio Northern University followed by two seasons as Director of Analytics/Assistant to the Head Coach at the University of Akron before entering high school coaching. He led the boys' program at Walsh Jesuit for five seasons and the girls' program at Gilmour Academy for one. CVCA is excited to have Coach Byrne continue the sustained success of the boys' basketball program. His vast experience will be an asset to the program with the season quickly approaching.

Kevin Byrne, CVCA Head Boys Basketball Coach
"I am deeply grateful to President Jason Spodnik and Athletic Director Jon Young for entrusting me with this opportunity. CVCA's commitment to Christ-centered education and to developing young men both on and off the court is something I greatly value. I look forward to investing in our student-athletes, following in the footsteps of the previous great coaches at CVCA to continue to develop a program that reflects the school's mission, and preparing these young men for success in basketball and in life."

Jon Young, CVCA Athletic Director
"We could not be more excited to welcome Coach Byrne to the CVCA family. He brings a wealth of experience, strong leadership, and a deep commitment to developing young men of character through the game of basketball. His passion for both excellence on the court and Christ-centered mentorship off the court makes him a tremendous fit for our school and community. Coach Byrne's proven ability to build competitive programs while also investing deeply in the lives of his players is exactly what we strive for at CVCA. I am confident he will have a lasting impact on our student-athletes, their families, and the entire CVCA community.""
