The CVCA baseball team travel down to Tennesse over spring break for the Warrior Spring Classic. This is the 4th year the Royals have participated in this event hosted by Riverdale High School. CVCA was able to return home 3-0 after strong play on Friday and Saturday. They are right back in action with a home North Coast Conference game against Lake Catholic on Monday.

The Royals took an early 3-0 lead in this game. They scored once in the top of the 1st when
Evan Wensel walked to score
Jonah Gaudio. They added 2 runs in the 2nd inning.
Connor McGough doubled to drive in
Layne Davis and
Alex Mammone singled to score McGough. Central Catholic answered in the 2nd inning. They scored 3 runs to tie the score. The Saints took the lead in the bottom of the 5th inning, but CVCA was able to answer quickly. In the top of the 6th inninng,
Alex Mammone homered over the right field fence to tie the score.

Ben Pittner and CVCA was back in front. CVCA extended their lead with 5 runs in the 7th inning to secure victory.

In their second game of the day on Friday, the Royals offense exploded for 15 runs to defeat Lewis County. CVCA scored multiple runs in all 5 innings.

After scoring 25 runs in 2 games on Friday, the Royals were looking to finish the trip strong against Franklin County. The Royals created some chance early but were held scoreless through the first 6 innings. They finally broke through in the 7th when
Reed Jones singled off the glove of the shortstop to score Jonah Gadio and
Connor McGough. This game the Royals the lead thanks to strong pitching performances by
Luke McQuillen and
Logan Kish.
Jacob Lancy made key defensive plays late and sealed the win by snagging a line drive and doubling up the runner off first base to end the game.
