The CVCA baseball team traveled to the West Campus of Cuyahoga Community College on Thursday night to face Holy Name. The Royals fell behind in the first but answered with 2 runs in the 2nd. A

Peyton Drabick and
Layne Davis walked in
Reed Jones. CVCA would leave the bases loaded. Holy Name was able to tie the score at 2 in the 3rd after 2 walks a stolen base and a wild pitch. The Royals found three runs in the 5th inning to take the lead.
Jacob Lancy singled in
Connor McGough and later scored on a fielding error.
Bo Lanzilotta walked to drive in
Jonah Gaudio and the Royals led 5-2. CVCA had grab some momentum, but struck out three times with the bases loaded to end the inning. Holy Name quickly answered with 3 runs of their own in the 5th. The Royals moved back in front in the 6th thanks to some mistakes by the Green Wave. Holy Name came up big in the bottom of the 6th and pushed across two runs to move in front. CVCA got the tying run on base with two outs in the 7th but were unable to drive them in. The Royals lost by a score of 7-6. They will travel to Triway on Saturday for the Carmichael Classic. CVCA is set to face Norwayne at 2pm.
