The CVCA baseball team participated in the Carmichael Classic on Saturday. The Royals faced the Norwayne Bobcats at Triway High School. CVCA scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning to jump in front. Connor McGough drove in Daniel Walker on a sacrifice fly. Two batters later, Bo Lanzilotta scored on a passed ball to make it 2-0. Peyton Drabick singled through the right side to push across Jacob Lancy and Jonah Gaudio. Norwayne scored one in the 4th and once in the 6th to pull within striking distance. The Bobcats scored again in the 7th and had the tying run at 3rd base with 2 outs. Kyle Shaw recorded a strikeout to end the game and save the victory. Ryan Tajgiszer got the win after pitching the first 4 innings allowing just 1 run. Logan Kish pitched two innings in relief before Shaw pitched the 7th. CVCA will be back in action on Monday at Elyria Catholic.
