The CVCA baseball team hosted Elyria Catholic on Tuesday in North Coast Conference action. The Royals were looking for the sweep after defeating the Panthers on Monday. Elyria Catholic scored on a CVCA error in the first to take a 1-0 lead. The Royals pulled even on a
Jacob Lancy single that scored
Connor McGough in the home half of the first. The Royals bats went quiet in the next three innings as the EC pitcher settled into a groove. The Panthers scored once in the 4th and three times in the 5th to grab control of the game at 5-1. CVCA never waiver and responded well. The Royals plated 6 runs in the home half of the 5th to flip the game in their favor.

Zac Anderson scored on separate passed balls.
Connor McGough drove in
Kyle Shaw with a double and later scored alongside
Jacob Lancy on a
Peyton Drabick single. The 2 run single by Drabick put the Royals in front by a score of 7-5. The boys added on in the 6th inning.
Layne Davis doubled to drive in
Zac Anderson and
Connor McGough followed that up with a towering home run to right center field.
Ryan Tajgiszer shutout the Panthers across the final 2.1 innings to secure the win.
Alex Mammone battled through 4.2 innings in the no decision. With the win, the Royals improve to 11-5 on the season and 4-3 in conference play. They are set to host Padua in a big NCC game on Wednesday.
