The CVCA baseball team faced off against Benedictine on Wednesday evening. Due to wet field conditions, the game was moved from CVCA to CC Sabathia Field. The Royals still served as the home team in this conference contest. Benedictine struck first with a manufactured run in the first inning. CVCA quickly answered with 2 runs in the home half of the first inning.

Jonah Gaudio sacrifice fly.
Peyton Drabick's performance on the mound was the story of the game. After the one run first, he shut out the Bengals the rest of the way. He pitched a complete game allowing just he 1 run and 2 hits. Drabick struck out 13 batters on the day. While more runs weren't needed, the Royals added 2 in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th.
Jonah Gaudio singled in
Connor McGough and later scored on a
Zac Anderson walk.
Peyton Drabick drove in
Layne Davis on a sacrifice fly to cap the score. The boys improve to 13-6 (6-4) with the 5-1 win. They will host Norton on Thursday for Senior Night.
