Royals respond. That message has been preached by Coach Larlham since day 1 of his tenure at CVCA. On Friday night, the Royals found themselves locked in a back and forth 1st half on the road at Loudonville. Then in the 2nd half, they responded in a big way. A two point half-time lead turn into a 24 point victory for CVCA. The big road win moves the Royals to 6-2 on the season and 4-1 in the PAC-7. They continue to score points in bunches and come up with timely plays on defense. CVCA will host Triway on Friday, October 20th.
The 1st quarter got off to a fast start with the CVCAÂ special teams and defense making two big plays.
Tre Tucker returned a punt 94 yards for a touchdown.
Jack Atwood added a 41 yard interception return and the Royals led 14-0. Loudonville was able to answer with a rushing touchdown and the Royals led 14-7 after the first.
Loudonville scored twice to start the 2nd quarter. They scored a touchdown on both offense and defense to take a 20-14 lead. CVCAÂ answered with their own scoring drive.
Jordan Decatur capped the drive with a 14 yard touchdown run. Loudonville connected on a long touchdown pass to regain the lead, but CVCAÂ was able to score again before half-time.
Jordan Decatur added another rushing touchdown, this time from 13 yards out. The wild half came to a close with CVCA leading 28-26 thanks to 2 failed extra points by the Redbirds.
The 3rd quarter was dominated by CVCA. The Royals scored 3 touchdowns in the quarter and held Loudonville scoreless.
Tre Tucker scored on a 4 yard touchdown run.
Jordan Decatur scored on 10 yard touchdown run and
Tre Tucker returned an interception 65 yards for another score. The Royals now led 49-26 and were in total control of the game.
CVCA and Loudonville would each score once in the final quarter. The Royals increased their lead to 56-26 when
Jordan Decatur rushed for his 4th touchdown of the night. Loudonville added a late touchdown to make the final score 56-32. An impressive road win for the Royals
