Football defeats Loudonville 56-32

Royals respond. That message has been preached by Coach Larlham since day 1 of his tenure at CVCA. On Friday night, the Royals found themselves locked in a back and forth 1st half on the road at Loudonville. Then in the 2nd half, they responded in a big way. A two point half-time lead turn into a 24 point victory for CVCA. The big road win moves the Royals to 6-2 on the season and 4-1 in the PAC-7. They continue to score points in bunches and come up with timely plays on defense. CVCA will host Triway on Friday, October 20th.

The 1st quarter got off to a fast start with the CVCA special teams and defense making two big plays. Tre Tucker returned a punt 94 yards for a touchdown. Jack Atwood added a 41 yard interception return and the Royals led 14-0. Loudonville was able to answer with a rushing touchdown and the Royals led 14-7 after the first.

Loudonville scored twice to start the 2nd quarter. They scored a touchdown on both offense and defense to take a 20-14 lead. CVCA answered with their own scoring drive. Jordan Decatur capped the drive with a 14 yard touchdown run. Loudonville connected on a long touchdown pass to regain the lead, but CVCA was able to score again before half-time. Jordan Decatur added another rushing touchdown, this time from 13 yards out. The wild half came to a close with CVCA leading 28-26 thanks to 2 failed extra points by the Redbirds.

The 3rd quarter was dominated by CVCA. The Royals scored 3 touchdowns in the quarter and held Loudonville scoreless. Tre Tucker scored on a 4 yard touchdown run. Jordan Decatur scored on 10 yard touchdown run and Tre Tucker returned an interception 65 yards for another score. The Royals now led 49-26 and were in total control of the game.
