The CVCA boys soccer team fell in the tough fought District Semi-final game against Aurora on Tuesday night. The Royals held a 1-0 lead at halftime behind a
Colin Gaines goal. Aurora took a 2-1 lead with 2 goals within minutes of each other ealry in the 2nd half. CVCA quickly responded with an equalizer off the foot off
Zack Venus. The score remain 2-2 until a penalty kick goal gave Aurora a 3-2 advantage. The Royals kept attacking. With just under 3 minutes remaining,
Josh Lichty launched a shot from 30 yards out that found the top right corner. Regulation ended with the score tied at 3-3. Six minutes into the first overtime period, Aurora scored to give them a sudden victory. The Royals finished the year at 12-2-3. They went 7-2-1 at home and 5-0-2 on the road in 2017. It was a terrific season that ended too soon. The program would like to thank the seniors and all the parents, families, and fans that supported them this fall.
