The CVCA boys tennis team picked up a 3-2 win over Medina Highland on Friday for their 5th win in a row. Coach Ramey describes Friday's match below.
"We finally had good conditions to play, despite some wind. We were grateful for the warmth. This was a very good win against a team of similar skill and experience. We were able to win because everyone on the team played hard, and everyone gave themselves the chance to win their match. Captain
Cole Farren played a tough opponent, but controlled the match for a solid 6-2 6-2 win. Senior
Luke Rickey controlled things from start to finish and dominated the points to win his match convincingly. It all came down to second doubles, who had won a close first set in a tie breaker. Varsity regular
Noah Rios and
Josh Watson, playing in only his second varsity match, came through confidently to win a decisive second set to seal the victory for the Royals. It capped off a fantastic 4-0 record on the week for varsity, where we won 23 courts, only losing 2 courts the entire week. We will look to build on this success as the weeks continue."
