The CVCA baseball team traveled to Northwest on Friday. The Royals and Indians met on a Friday since both teams were on spring break trips when originally scheduled to play. CVCA and Northwest battled tough weather conditions that included snow, rain, wind, and cold on this day. Northwest grabbed an early lead with 2 runs in a wild first inning. Northwest was able to hold CVCA scoreless until the 5th inning. The Royals scored 2 runs on a big 2 out single by
Josh Thacker to tie the game. Then in the 7th, CVCA pushed 1 run across to take a 3-2 advantage. Senior
Matt Henning pitched a terrific game for the Royals. After a rough first inning, he shut down the Indians offense for the rest of the game. He earned the complete game victory allowing just 1 earned run while striking out 3. With the win, the boys are now 3-3. They will travel to Manchester on Monday, April 9th.
