The Royals pulled out an extremely close match against Magnificat on Tuesday evening that saw several match points for both teams before everything was said and done. CVCA's wins came from Junior
Courtney DeCarlo at 3rd singles, Seniors
Callie Conner and
Courtney Morris at 2nd doubles, and then, in a 3 set thriller, from Junior
Sarah Thelander at 2nd singles. With the Royals winning 2 courts to 1 and Sarah, along with Senior 1st singles player
Hannah Jacob, still on the court, the Royals needed only one of the 2 courts to pull out a win in order to take home the victory. Both matches went into a tiebreaker at the end of the 3rd set. Though she gave it everything, Hannah fell just short of winning the decisive tie breaker. However, despite being down match point on 3 separate occasions, as well as having her own match points on 4 occasions, Sarah was able to keep her nerve and win the tiebreaker 8-6 to give CVCA the victory. With a great team win, the Royals will look to close their match season against Cuyahoga Falls on Thursday with intensity and determination! - Coach Ramey
