In preparation for their sectional tournament as doubles partners, normal 1st and 2nd singles players Alex Stout and Luke Thelander played 1st doubles against a tough Highland team. That meant other members of the team would have to step up to get a win in singles to take the match. Although Alex and Luke lost an extremely close two set match, the 2nd doubles team of David Van Hala and Carson Reske picked up a hard fought win. At 2nd singles, senior Josh Shelford picked up a win in his first singles match of the season. It all came down to senior Jacob Wodrich, also playing his first singles match of the season. Deep in the third set, Jacob remained incredibly focused to dig out a win and take the match for the Royals. What an excellent show of versatility from CVCA tennis!
