It was a hot, sunny afternoon for senior night as the Royals faced the Explorers from Hudson. Hudson came out strong in first and third singles, winning each match in two sets. The Royals needed to secure victories on the three remaining courts to come away with the win on Senior Night. For Senior Night, the Royals played a different lineup with Seniors Ethan Stradtman and Liam O'Keefe playing second doubles. Though they haven't played together at all this season, they were able to win a hard fought back-and-forth match in three sets 6-4 2-6 6-2. The district qualifying team of Senior David Van Hala and Junior Carson Reske continued their dominant season to win 6-0 7-6(2). With all the seniors having secured wins for their final regular season match, the deciding court was yet again Freshman Jonathan Van Hala. Jonathan played up a court at second singles to accommodate Ethan Stradtman moving to doubles, and he performed with incredible maturity and grit. He defeated his opponent 6-2 6-3 as everyone watched, giving his Seniors the chance to go out on a win! We're so proud of our Seniors and our team this season! Go Royals!
