The CVCA boys tennis team hosted Bay on Monday evening. The Royals and Rockets played through some rain and even snow during this match. Though the weather was frigid, the match intensity heated up right from the start. CVCA lost a couple of close matches in first singles and second doubles, but sophomores
Jonathan Van Hala and
Alex Cook leveled the score in decisive fashion at second and third singles. With the match on the line, it all came down to the senior first doubles duo of
Seth DeRoo and team captain,
Carson Reske. Despite being down at different points in both sets, the Royals kept cool heads and won the match 6-4 6-4 with aggressive net play and creative court movement. It was a great close win for the team in difficult Monday conditions. The boys are now 9-1 to start the season. They will travel to Green on Wednesday.
