The CVCA football team traveled to NCC leading Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin on Friday night in Week 8 of the OHSAA season. The Royals were looking to knock off the Lions and keep their hopes of a conference championship intact. NDCL scored first with a touchdown half way through the first quarter. They added on to their lead in 2nd quarter and led 14-0 at halftime. The Royals offense couldn't get in a rhythm on this night. The Lions scored two more touchdowns in the 3rd quarter to push their lead to 28. CVCA put together a score drive in the 4th quarter to get on the board. Tommy Kopec capped a 9 play, 78 yard drive with a 2 yard run. The big play of the drive was a 37 yard pass from Jackson Crews to Will Perrow to set the Royals up with first and goal. NDCL would score late in the 4th quarter to secure the 35-7 victory. With the loss, CVCA moves to 4-4 on the season. The Royals will host Padua on October 16th for Senior Night.
