The CVCA football team traveled to Elyria Catholic on Friday for week 10 of the 2026 season. With little chance of making the playoffs, the Royals were looking to finish the season strong. They did just that with a solid all around performance in a 42-7 conference road win. After a scoreless first quarter, the CVCA offense was clicking. The Royals defense completely stifled the Panthers outside of one long touchdown run. With the win, the boys finish the season with a record of 6-4. The class of 2027 finishes their career with an impressive 36-11 record.

A quick first quarter ended with no points for either team. The CVCA offense picked it up in the 2nd quarter and opened up a lead. Junior Tommy Kopec scored 3 rushing touchdowns in the quarter and the Royals led 21-7 at halftime. Kopec scored from 15 yards and 13 yards before breaking off an impressive 50 yard touchdown that included multiple broken tackles. CVCA added a touchdown in the 3rd quarter when Mason Frye scored from 3 yards outs. Early in the 4th quarter, junior Jackson Crews connected with senior Carter Walkley for a 25 yard touchdown through the air. Senior Will Perrow was able to cap the night with a 20 yard touchdown run with just over 2 minutes left. The Royals' defense allowed just 173 yards of offense with 75 yards coming on the lone Elyria Catholic touchdown. It was an all around great team win to finish off the 2026 season.
